CBN Top 25: 4/1

CBN Staff  |  4/1/13

Before we get to the rankings, here are a couple of notes:

– With their Pac-12 brethren UCLA and Oregon St. both dropping series over the weekend, The Oregon Ducks propel themselves back into the top five for the first time since late February after clinching a sweep over Washington on Sunday. Cal St. Fullerton enters the top 5 as well after sweeping Pacific, including a 25-0 drubbing on Saturday.

– Since the first batch of polls came out before the season started, Virginia Tech has been a team that has been regularly coming in and falling out. The Hokies find themselves back in this week after pulling off a huge series win at home over Florida St. Cal Poly also finds itself back in following a sweep over UC-Davis.

– Those two teams come in at the expense of Gonzaga and Mississippi St. The Bulldogs from Starkville are free-falling right now after starting out the season 17-0 and getting as high number-4 in the polls. They have since dropped four straight series and have really dug themselves in a hole in the cutthroat SEC.

– After a tough start to the season, Arkansas has worked its way back into the top 10 as they pulled off a second straight conference series win over a ranked opponent. They travel to Alabama this weekend before hosting top-ranked LSU.
